It's all about Team Spirit!

We were at a competition in the spring and the girls just loved these! So when I found a retailer who could supply me with mini little jeweled logos I jumped at the chance! The teal color is wrong so I have to wait until my new supply of ribbon comes in, but I could wait to try it out :)

Packing for Cheer Camp!
My daughter has been cheering for 5 years now, and she's heading into her third year of competition cheer. This will be her first year away at cheer camp so we're sending her off in style!

We started with a trunk from Bed Bath & Beyond, basic black works the best I think for this project. As she's moved through her years in cheer, she's collected quite a few stickers from each of the gyms and organizations she's belonged to and from the places she's travel to for competitions. We glued the stickers and patches to the trunk in a hap-hazard manor and we used a white paint pen to add the year next to each one (not shown in this picture). We hope that as she grows and continues to cheer she will one day completely cover this trunk with stickers and patches , making herself a wonderful keepsake to hold onto for years to come.

For the inside of the trunk we got REALLY creative! On the lid we used 5/8" wide elastic bought at the fabric store to creative a lattice pattern. Using hot glue we mounted it to the lid and covered the ends with jewels in her gym colors. This holds her cheer bows neatly  so they don't get crushed in transport. Next we added a pre-mounted cork board that we found at Michaels. Here she placed pictures of her friends and families, and notes from Mom & Dad. Next we added a couple of inspirational words (also spray painted in her gym colors) and a star mirror. We mounted the mirror with double strength velcro strips to keep it from falling off. Lastly we added 5 canvas covered boxes, also purchased from Michaels to help organize her belongings. 1 box each for day clothes, practice wear, toiletries, pajamas etc, and notebooks, pencils, camera box. This helped to keep everything from shifting as we moved the trunk to the car and everything, plus as a bonus they fit perfectly in her cubby at camp :).

Have fun creating your own!
